Ninja Blast Portable Blender: A Detailed Review

Check out the Portable Smoothie Blender that everyone is talking about; The Ninja Blast Portable Blender. Is it worth all the fuss? Let’s find out.

There are very many blenders on the market, all with varying functions and styles. The price range is quite vast too, some as cheap as £20.00 and others as much as £200.00 or more and of course everything in between. There’s a huge range of options to choose from.

If you’re looking for something fast and compact, relatively well priced (around the £45-£50.00 mark), that you can use on the go, then The Ninja Blast Portable Blender is just for you.

In this article we’ll have a look at this blender, its functions, and practicalities, we’ll also try out a couple of smoothie recipes and see how this blender performs.

The Ninja Blast Portable Blender

We’re always on the lookout for gadgies that are nifty, something a little different, and above all useful. Anything that makes our processes easier and swifter is always a good thing.

This Ninja Blast Portable Blender is small and compact, it’s surprisingly quiet and does exactly what it says on the box, it blends! Let’s take a closer look.

Ninja Blast Portable Blender Specifications and Features

Let’s first list the features of this unit and what you can expect to get:

  • The Ninja Blast Portable Blender A Detailed Review Image 1 ninja blast portable blender black silver frosted fusionsRechargeable and comes with a USB-C, water-resistant charging port (supplied with just a cable, no plug which is slightly annoying, but not something you can’t overcome. Think that’s become more of a standard these days).
  • Leak-Proof Lid & Sip Spout
  • Carry Handle, clearly designed for easy portability
  • Blade & Cup Covers
  • Capacity 530 Millilitres max fill blending cup
  • Dimensions 8.5D x 9W x 27H centimetres
  • As the cup and power unit remain attached, the blender is naturally a tad heavier than your standard smoothie drink cup, but it’s not onerous and I guess you can use it for a few arm curls lol
  • Dishwasher safe – Lid and vessel – NOT the base unit (be careful, because the unit is so compact, it’s easy to forget this!)
  • Comes in a range of fashionable colours (there’s a Passion Fruit Purple option), I got the black and silver standard one

Using your Ninja Blast Portable Blender.

The Ninja Blast Portable Blender comes in a circular box, quite cool as it looks like a nice bottle of brandy or vodka! Deceptive I know.

There is no set-up required at all, the blade is already fixed in place and aside from a quick wipe with a damp cloth, to remove packaging dust and debris, you’re good to go.

You receive an instruction leaflet which is very self-explanatory (which also provides a handful of smoothie recipes that are very nice-looking blends). There are literally only two buttons. One to power the blender and another to start and stop the blending process. That’s it. No engineering degrees are required here.

For best results, you do need to charge the Ninja Blast Blender fully before first use (approx 2 hours charge time).

To start, align your arrows on the blender base with your blender vessel, and turn the unit on by pressing the power button, easily located and visible at the front of the unit.

Then add your ingredients, starting with the liquids first, this is always best practice as the smoothies tend to blend better with liquids in first.

The-Ninja-Blast-Portable-Blender-A-Detailed-Review-Image-4-edited-ninja-blast-blue-frosted-fusionsOnce you’ve added all your ingredients, secure the lid, and press start/stop button, again very visible. The blender will operate for approximately 25-30 seconds.

If you find your ingredients clumping up a little, then you can shake the unit, whilst it’s blending, or open it up and add a little more liquid and blend further.

You can stop the unit at any time if you need to add more liquid and continue blending until you feel you have a smooth, well-blended mixture.

Turn the unit off at the power button once it’s finished its cycle and you are happy with the consistency.

And that’s it, simple, fast and the outcome is very smoothly blended smoothies.

Considering how loud other Ninja products are and the fact that you are blending frozen ingredients, this is relatively quiet, although I wouldn’t suggest taking it into a library!

For such a compact unit, it’s very powerful and easily blends ice and frozen ingredients. Surprisingly powerful actually for something so dinky and compact!

Using The Ninja Blast Portable Blender is a Blast!

After a couple of hours of charging, we loaded up the Ninja Blast with a Berry Green Smoothie mix, we thought we’d put it to the test thoroughly with frozen ingredients as well as leafy greens, as these can sometimes get stuck to the side of a blender and not blend well.

It’s a quick and easy blend to throw together (but also super nutritious and tasty);

Berry Green Blast Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 150g frozen mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 100g fresh spinach leaves
  • 125g Greek yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 240ml coconut water
  • Ice cubes (for a colder smoothie and for more rigorous testing)

In went the coconut water and then the frozen berries, frozen banana, fresh spinach leaves, Greek yoghurt and chia seeds, and also a handful of ice cubes. Secured the lid tightly. Aligned the arrows on the blender base with the blender cup filled with delicious goodness and turned the unit on with the power button.

Pressed the start button and blended for around 30 seconds. It was noisy, yes but considering there were frozen chunks of fruit and ice, it could have been a lot louder. Gave it a good shake and then gave it another 10-second blast. Checked the consistency and was incredibly impressed! Smooth as a smoothie! Even the spinach leaves were well blended. Tasted – delish, texture – smooth! Very impressed. Super simple, fast and efficient.

Yes, this Ninja Blast Blender does what it says on the box, it’s easy, very efficient and produces smooth, non-bitty smoothies with ease. 10 out of 10 for ease of use and quality of results.

Curious to see how long the charge lasts, so won’t be charging it to see how much usage you can get out of it.

The Ninja Blast Portable Blender Lives Up to Its Name!

One of the standout features of the Ninja Blast Portable Blender is its true portability. The power unit and cup seamlessly come together in a compact and easy-to-carry unit with a handy carry handle, making it a hassle-free companion wherever you go.

The-Ninja-Blast-Portable-Blender-A-Detailed-Review-Image-5-edited-portable-ninja-blast-beingput-into-a-rucksack-with-caption-leakproof-frosted-fusionsImagine this: you’ve run out of your delicious smoothie, but with the Ninja Blast, you don’t have to settle for that. Whether you’re near a supermarket or have pre-packed fruits and veggies (kudos to the organised few!) you can effortlessly mix up a new blend on the spot.

Simply grab some fresh ingredients, add them to the cup, and as long as you’ve got enough charge, blend away. Anytime, anywhere.

This is a game-changer for those who crave a fresh blend while living life on the move.

Considerations and Limitations of the Ninja Blast Portable Blender.

While the Ninja Blast Portable Blender has several very positive features, we feel it’s important to provide a balanced view of this product so we’ve listed a handful of potential drawbacks.

Here are a few pros and cons:

  1. The Ninja Blast Portable Blender A Detailed Review Image 4 arrows with pros and cons frosted fusionsCapacity Limitation: The blender has a maximum fill capacity of 530 millilitres. For those looking to prepare larger batches, this might require multiple blending sessions.
  2. Charging Dependency: As a rechargeable blender, users need to ensure it’s adequately charged before use. For forgetful users or those who prefer a device that’s always ready, this could be a limitation.
  3. Base Unit Not Dishwasher-Safe: While the lid and vessel are dishwasher-safe, the base unit is not. Users need to be cautious during cleaning to avoid damaging the electrical components.
  4. Limited Colour Options: While there is a range of colours, the availability of specific colours may vary. Some users might prefer a wider selection to match personal preferences.
  5. Pricier Than Basic Blenders: Compared to basic, non-portable blenders, the Ninja Blast Portable Blender falls into a higher price range. Users on a tight budget might find more affordable alternatives.

It’s important to note that these points are our considerations and may not be significant drawbacks for everyone. You should weigh these factors against the features and benefits that align with your preferences and needs.

      Thank you for your comment.

I’m glad that you appreciated our detailed review of the Ninja Blast. It is a great and super convenient blender to have.

In answer to your question; Honestly, It’s a great blender! I have no complaints. It’s quick and efficient, blends very smoothly, battery has a long life. The one thing is I have to keep reminding myself not to put the base into the dishwasher. It’s so compact, that I think that could be easy to do.

But aside from that it’s a great blender and wonderful being able to take it with you and blend whilst on the go.

      Thanks again for your comment.

  2. Hi Cherie, another great article with this review. I have a Ninja blender and love it. They are so easy to use and the end results is a smoothie that slides down so easy!! The comment you make about the content limitation is something I agree with, I would like to be able to do more in it, but it is what it is, we cant have everything, the size is what makes it very handy after all!!

I really like your recipe you have included, I might even get my little one to try that with the spinach in it as she is a big Popeye fan. Thanks Cherie!
