Vegan & Dairy-Free Scoops That Everyone Can Enjoy

Many of our favourite scoops are either already plant-based — or can be with a quick swap or two. Whether you’re catering to allergies, preferences, or just love a lighter option, it’s easy to adapt recipes without losing flavour.

No one should miss out on a Bank Holiday scoop — and with so many delicious dairy-free options, everyone can join the party.

How to Make Any Ice Cream Vegan or Dairy-Free:

With a few simple customisations, you can easily adapt to make your ice cream all-inclusive!

Swap the cream: Use full-fat coconut cream, oat cream, or a rich soy alternative in place of dairy double cream.

Use plant-based milk: Almond, oat, or cashew milk work beautifully — just avoid watery rice milk.

Sweeten the natural way: Maple syrup, agave, or apple honey are all excellent alternatives to bee-based honey.

Make it creamy without eggs: Use cornstarch, blended cashews, or bananas to thicken your base. Vegan custard or silken tofu also works in rich blends.

Go “nice” with nice cream: Frozen banana blends make a silky soft-serve base — no machine needed!

💡 Pro tip: Sorbets are naturally dairy-free and pair wonderfully with nut-based crumbles or citrus zest for a little flair.

  1. Loved this! Ice cream really is the ultimate Bank Holiday mood—especially when the sun actually decides to show up in May. I’m definitely trying the Redstone Raspberry Pops and that Wildflower & Honey Ripple Froyo (what a combo!). The DIY sundae bar idea is genius too—perfect for a garden hangout. Do you have a personal favourite flavour or combo that always steals the show at your parties?

    • Hi Vlad_B,

Thanks so much for your lovely comment—and welcome! We’re so pleased our article hit the right note for you.

You’re absolutely right: when the sun finally shows up for a Bank Holiday, homemade ice cream is definitely the vibe!

Great to hear that you are tempted by the Redstone Raspberry Pops and the Wildflower & Honey Ripple Froyo—they’re both such fun flavour combos, especially for outdoor gatherings. The DIY sundae bar always gets people talking (and piling on way too many toppings, but isn’t that half the fun?).

As for a personal favourite at our get-togethers, that’s quite hard for me to choose – it’s like saying which child is my favourite, lol. But it’s hard to beat a Salted Caramel ice cream, topped with roasted flaked almonds that contrast of savoury-sweet always works for me. It’s rich, crunchy, a little bit luxe, and always disappears first.

That said, we’ve also had great success with lighter, grown-up options like our Strawberry Daiquiri Sorbet – fruity, fresh, boozy and perfect for Spring Bank Holiday vibes – always a winner!

Would love to hear which combo steals the spotlight at your garden hangouts once you’ve tried a few!

Thanks again for stopping by and sharing the Bank Holiday ice cream love.

      Warmest wishes,
      Cherie
