      Great question about compressor-style machines vs. freezer bowl models. If you’re making ice cream once or twice a week and enjoy a bit of spontaneity, a compressor model can be a very useful option. The convenience of skipping the 12–24 hour bowl pre-freeze and being able to churn back-to-back batches is brilliant. That said, the investment only really pays off if you’re committed to making frozen treats regularly and want flexibility.

      If budget is a factor, a good-quality freezer bowl model can still produce fantastic results, you just need to plan ahead a little. The Ninja Creami, for example, is freezer-based but super versatile and great for creative mix-ins or protein-rich recipes. And the Duronic model is very affordable and very capable, too.
