KitchenAid is a familiar name synonymous with robust quality and reliable performance in the kitchen, although I think the name might slightly give that one away already, lol.
When it comes to KitchenAid’s food processors, they’re not just pretty-looking appliances on the countertop; these food processors are workhorses that can handle just about anything you throw at them. With its array of uses, this food processor can undertake endless tasks and is a valuable and essential piece of kit to have.
Intrigued? Well, who wouldn’t be at the prospect of not having to spend ages prepping ingredients by hand? Plus, we’ll detail how this device isn’t just confined to making velvety ice cream – though it does that with ease.
It’s also your sous-chef for chopping, blending, kneading… the list goes on.
Before we get into the nitty-gritty details, it’s important to note that this review is coming from a place of personal experience. I own a KitchenAid Food Processor, and I’ve tested its mettle on countless occasions – from whipping up quick dinners to preparing elaborate showstopping desserts. So, you’re getting the inside scoop from someone who has really put this appliance through its paces.
Unboxing the Versatility: KitchenAid Food Processor
I’ve had my KitchenAid for a couple of years now, it was a big purchase but for me, an avid home cook, it was an expense I was prepared to pay. Given the reviews I had read, this piece of kit was going to be making me a cuppa in no time at all, lol.
The KitchenAid comes in a variety of super cool colours, from yellow, light blue, dark blue, black, cream, red and many more options too, obviously depending on where you purchase and what stock is available at the time.
Opening up the packaging, I was greeted by several items; the processor body, a work bowl, a lid with a feed tube, and, of course, a set of various blades and discs that hinted at the machine’s versatility. Plus, the obligatory and rather hefty operating instructions manual.
Before I could get to mixing, slicing, and dicing, there was the initial setup to take care of. Going through the instruction manual, I found it super straightforward and within minutes, my KitchenAid was assembled and ready to demonstrate its capabilities. Just plug in, select the desired attachment, and away you go – it’s as simple as that.
There’s something very satisfying about seeing a well-crafted appliance taking pride of place on the counter. More importantly, the first time you switch it on, you’ll appreciate that this isn’t just about taking the effort out of cooking; it’s about elevating your kitchen game to a whole new level.

Attachments Galore: Maximizing Your KitchenAid’s Potential
So, we’ve details about the sleek design and powerful motor of the KitchenAid Food Processor. But what really sets it apart is the sheer range of attachments that come into play. With each attachment, you’re unlocking a new skill for this culinary wizard, transforming it from just a gadget to the jack-of-all-trades in your kitchen.
Think about the essential attachments that come standard with most models – you’ve got the multipurpose blade for chopping and pureeing, and the dough blade, which is perfect when you’re looking to make some fresh bread or pizza dough. And it doesn’t stop there.
You’re also going to find a slicing disc, perfect for getting consistently thin slices of cucumber for your sandwiches, and a grating disc for effortlessly shredding cheese for your pasta bakes. It’s simply a matter of selecting the right attachment for the job.
Now, this is where creativity meets convenience. Want to dabble in some homemade peanut butter or take a stab at some gourmet salsa? The KitchenAid’s got you covered. And for your adventurous cook-offs, how about homemade slaw or spiralling vegetables for that trendy salad?
The additional purchase of a spiralizer or julienne disc could see you plating up dishes you’d never imagined yourself making at home.
Here’s a quick tip for getting the most out of these tools: always make sure the attachments are firmly locked into place before you start, and you’re ready to flip the switch. Swapping attachments is a breeze, but remember to handle them with care – after all, sharp blades and a fast motor mean business, and a little caution goes a long way.

Discover the Additional Attachments: Elevate Your Culinary Creations
As detailed, the KitchenAid Food Processor isn’t just limited to its standard attachments; it also offers a wise range of additional accessories designed to elevate your culinary creations even further.
One standout is the pasta-making attachment, which transforms the often cumbersome and labour-intensive process of making homemade pasta into a simple and enjoyable task.
For anyone who loves the taste and texture of fresh homemade pasta but dreads the effort required to achieve it, the KitchenAid pasta-making attachment is a true game-changer.
Traditionally, making pasta by hand involves a significant amount of time and effort, particularly when it comes to rolling out the dough to a consistent thickness. Even using a manual rolling pasta maker can be challenging, as it requires one hand to crank the rollers and only one hand to feed and pull the pasta through smoothly.
In the past, I have found myself struggling with making pasta. Over-stretching the sheets if I pull too hard, or the pasta gets lumpy if I don’t pull enough, whilst cranking with one hand and ‘feeding the pasta’ with the other, it’s a bit of a juggle, often resulting in uneven pasta and a cumbersome, frustrating experience.
With the KitchenAid pasta-making attachment, that awkward process becomes a breeze. Here’s how it transforms your pasta-making experience:
- Consistent Thickness: The attachment ensures that your pasta dough is rolled out to a consistent thickness every time, eliminating the guesswork and effort of manual rolling.
- Hands-Free Operation: Unlike manual pasta makers, the KitchenAid attachment allows for hands-free operation. Simply feed the dough through the rollers, and let the machine do the work, giving you perfect, smooth pasta sheets effortlessly.
- Versatility: The attachment can create various types of pasta, including spaghetti, fettuccine, and lasagne sheets, allowing you to experiment with different recipes and styles.
- Ease of Use: Attaching and using the pasta maker is straightforward, even for those new to homemade pasta. The results are consistently excellent, making it easy to impress family and friends with your culinary skills.
By investing in the KitchenAid pasta-making attachment, you’ll find that making homemade pasta is no longer a daunting task but an enjoyable part of your cooking routine.
This attachment, along with others available for the KitchenAid Food Processor, expands the functionality of your appliance, turning it into an indispensable tool in your kitchen.

Balancing the Scales: The Pros and Cons of the KitchenAid Food Processor
I’ve had my fair share of experiences with my KitchenAid Food Processor, and there’s quite a lot to say. First, let’s talk about the upsides. This food processor is incredibly versatile.
You can whip up a batch of ice cream just as easily as you can chop veggies for a stew. The range of attachments that are available transforms this from a single-use appliance to the Swiss Army knife of your kitchen.
I’ve personally found the KitchenAid to be a reliable companion. It’s sturdily built, and the motor has the kind of oomph you need to deal with harder foods like nuts and root vegetables. Plus, attachments like the dough blade make it invaluable for baking prep.
The KitchenAid is however quite hefty, which means it can be a bit of a pain to move about if you’re tight on space or prefer appliances that are easy to tuck away. Also, with all its capabilities, it does come with a price tag that might make you think twice.
Ultimately it’s about measuring, pardon the cooking pun, what you need against what this powerhouse can offer. If you’re looking for a do-it-all helper in the kitchen and don’t mind the investment, the KitchenAid Food Processor could be any home cook’s best friend.
I believe the KitchenAid Food Processor merits its place in any home, especially if you’re an avid home cook like me. Its adaptability, durability, and sheer ease of creating an array of dishes with its help, make it a worthy consideration.

The Kitchenaid looks a lot like my Mom’s old 1970s Kenwood food processor. The design seems to have come back full circle. These food processors look awesome and I would love to own one of these in Royal blue.
The best part about owning one of these food processors is that I will be able to rid myself of all the useless gadgets that take up a lot of space and trade them for this multi-functional kitchen helper that can do it all.
Just wondering if the cleanup process is as easy as you make out.
Hey Michel,
Thanks for your comment, yes the style of these food processors has gone back in time, I have to agree with you and 100% agree, that the KitchenAid is so adaptable and versatile, that you can, in essence, clear your work surfaces off and have just this one unit. It’s amazing all the attachments that are now available for this one food processor. Royal Blue is a great choice!
Re cleaning, it really is quite easy. Most of the attachments, the mixing bowls, etc are dishwasher safe, and those that aren’t can be easily wiped down with a damp cloth.
Thanks once again for your comment and sharing your thoughts.
All the best
