      Thanks for your comment and supportive words in respect of my article. I spent a lot of time on that, researching and comparing products, hoping to present the best options available to our readers.

      As with all our articles, our hope is to share our experiences of making homemade ice creams, and using different styles of ice cream makers and hopefully, where we have stumbled, others won’t as they can learn from the the tips and tricks we share.

      The Magimix Le Glacier, is quite a compact unit! That was listed first in the article as it was the lowest-priced ice cream maker in that grouping of top 5 that was highlighted.

      As a lower-priced product, it does what it is asked of it. I started with an ice cream maker of a similar style. It is basic, however, basic or not it still does the trick. You can still produce delicious homemade ice cream whilst using this product.

      This Magixmix is the style of ice cream maker that requires a freezer bowl that you pre-freeze for 8 hours prior to use (inasmuch as manufacturers recommend 8 hours, it’s more likely to be an overnight freeze to get freezer bowl properly frozen and ready to achieve the required results in your ice cream).

      This method takes something away from those who want to spontaneously make ice cream. With this unit, you have to be organised and have that freezer bowl in the freezer ready and waiting.

      Aside from that ‘con’ as it were, this is a great starter ice cream maker where you can achieve wonderful results. 

      There might be a bit of additional freezing to achieve the desired consistency of your ice cream, as most reviews on the Magimix expressed that the end result was more of a soft serve, rather than a hard set ice cream.

      However, this comes down to each individual’s personal preference. Soft serve may suit some people and therefore the Magimix is more than sufficient for the job.

      With regards any unique techniques; this model has a very small chute where you add your ice cream mixture and/or introduce additional extras such as nuts, chocolate chips etc. Some of the reviews suggested using a jug to pour your ice cream mixture in, I found a funnel to be very useful and as you use this product, or indeed any ice cream maker, you get to know it and get to know its features, you learn what works best as you go.
