Strawberry Daiquiri Sorbet – A Boozy, Cocktail-Inspired Treat

Sweet, tangy & boozy! This Strawberry Daiquiri Sorbet blends fresh strawberries, lime & rum for the ultimate frozen cocktail-inspired treat. Try it today!

There’s something about strawberries and rum that just works. Maybe it’s the sweet, juicy freshness of ripe strawberries meeting the smooth, slightly tropical kick of white rum, or maybe it’s just the fact that a Strawberry Daiquiri is one of the most deliciously refreshing cocktails ever created!

I’ve always loved fruit-based cocktails (makes me feel healthy, lol), but I hadn’t properly explored daiquiris until recently. And when I did? I realised my life had not been complete up to that point, lol.

The perfect balance of sweet strawberries, zesty lime, and a splash of rum, white rum to boot, blended together into something cool, crisp, and utterly delicious, just perfection!

So naturally, the next step was obvious, well certainly for me – why not turn this classic cocktail into a sorbet? A smooth, boozy, frozen treat that’s refreshing, fruity, and full of summer vibes.

And just like the cocktail itself, it’s light, naturally dairy-free, and incredibly easy to make.

In this article, we’ll cover:
What is a Strawberry Daiquiri? A quick history of this classic cocktail.
Why this sorbet works – The perfect blend of fruit, citrus, and rum.
A simple, naturally vegan & dairy-free Strawberry Daiquiri Sorbet recipe.

What is a Strawberry Daiquiri?

Strawberry Daiquiri Sorbet – A Boozy, Cocktail-Inspired Frozen Treat image 1 two cocktail glasses of strawberry daiquiri Frosted FusionsStrawberry Daiquiri is a classic rum-based cocktail made with fresh strawberries, white rum, lime juice, and a touch of sweetness (usually sugar or simple syrup). It can be served two ways:

  • Shaken over ice – A chilled, refreshing cocktail poured into a glass.
  • Blended with ice – The frozen version (which is basically a boozy slushy!).

The daiquiri itself dates back to the early 1900s, originally made with rum, lime, and sugar, but the strawberry version became popular later, especially as a frozen cocktail option. And since frozen daiquiris are already halfway to being sorbet, this recipe is a natural evolution of the cocktail!

Why Strawberries & White Rum Are a Perfect Match

There’s a reason strawberries and white rum are such a classic cocktail pairing—they balance each other beautifully, creating a harmonious blend of sweetness, acidity, and subtle warmth.

  • The Sweetness of Strawberries – Ripe strawberries are naturally sweet and juicy, with a slight tang that keeps them from being overpowering. Their bright, berry flavour pairs effortlessly with spirits, making them a staple in fruity cocktails.
  • The Crisp, Clean Profile of White Rum – Unlike darker rums, white rum is light, smooth, and slightly sweet, with subtle hints of vanilla and tropical fruit. It adds depth and warmth without overwhelming the fresh fruit flavours.
  • Balanced with Lime & Sugar – The addition of lime juice and a touch of sweetness (like sugar or simple syrup) brings everything together, enhancing the strawberries while keeping the drink (or sorbet!) refreshing and well-rounded.

This classic combination has stood the test of time, not just in daiquiris but in countless other strawberry-rum cocktails. And now, it’s transformed into a smooth, refreshing sorbet that captures all those vibrant, tropical flavours in every scoop!

Naturally Vegan & Dairy-Free

One of the best things about this sorbet is that it’s naturally vegan and dairy-free – just like the cocktail!

Unlike ice cream, which relies on milk or eggs for richness, sorbet is fruit-forward and refreshing, using simple ingredients to create a smooth, scoopable texture. The addition of rum also helps keep it softer in the freezer, making it even easier to serve. Win win right?

Can This Work With Other Fruits?

Strawberry Daiquiri Sorbet – A Boozy, Cocktail-Inspired Frozen Treat image 2 three different fruit daiquiris lined up in cocktail glasses Frosted FusionsAbsolutely! Daiquiris aren’t exclusive to strawberries – they can be made with a variety of fruits, as long as they follow the classic daiquiri formula:

Rum (traditionally white rum)
Citrus (usually lime juice)
Sweetener (sugar or simple syrup)
Fruit of choice

So while the Strawberry Daiquiri is the most famous fruit variation, you can easily swap strawberries for other fruits to create different Daiquiri-inspired sorbets!

Other Fruity Daiquiri Variations:

  • Pineapple DaiquiriTropical & tangy with fresh pineapple & lime.
  • Mango DaiquiriSmooth & exotic with ripe mango.
  • Peach DaiquiriJuicy & sweet with peaches & a touch of honey.
  • Watermelon DaiquiriUltra-refreshing with fresh watermelon.
  • Mixed Berry DaiquiriBold & vibrant with blueberries, raspberries & blackberries.

  1. This strawberry daiquiri sorbet sounds like the perfect mix of refreshing and indulgent! I’ve made boozy frozen treats before, but this one stands out with how it balances fresh fruit and cocktail vibes. It’s definitely going on my summer weekend treat list. Have you tried making it with other berries too?

    • Hi Marlinda,

Lovely to see you back! So glad our Strawberry Daiquiri sorbet caught your eye—it really is the perfect balance of refreshing and indulgent. A boozy sorbet always feels like a little bit of summer magic in a scoop! ????????

And yes! We’ve experimented with raspberries and blackberries, which both work beautifully. Raspberries bring a slightly sharper tang, while blackberries add a deeper, almost jammy richness. Even a mix of berries makes for a stunning sorbet with gorgeous colour and flavour layers.

If you give it a go with other berries, let us know how it turns out—we’d love to hear what you think!

Thanks again for dropping by and sharing your thoughts.

      All the best,
      Cherie
