These recipes sound absolutely deliciious and perfect for a hot summer’s day. I’m unsure of the difference between Ice cream and sorbet, could you please explain this? Are there any other fruit suggestions other than berries? I was also wondering how to make ice cream with out an ice cream maker but you’ve covered that also. Thanks for a great article.
Hey Lyn,
Thanks for your comment and really glad you appreciated our article and the recipes we have shared for the 4th of July celebrations.
Sorbet tends to have no milk or cream, making it a much lighter version of ice cream. Check out our article – Sorbet – A ‘Lighter’ Alternative to Ice Cream – which provides a greater explanation.
Of course, you can use any fruits you like, our aim was to highlight fruits and berries that best presented the red white, and blue colours for the 4th July theme, but you can easily switch out the berries for other fruits that you prefer.
For more information on how to make ice cream without an ice cream maker – please see our article – How to Make Homemade Ice Cream Without an Ice Cream Maker – which provides lots of hints, tips, and guidance on making no-churn ice cream.
Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts,
All the very best
