Grab your sunglasses and hold onto your scoops — we’re heading to Hawaii… with a mischievous alien in tow.

In celebration of the new live-action Lilo & Stitch movie, we’re diving into a swirl of ice cream flavours inspired by the characters, chaos, and charm of this beloved Disney tale.

Lilo and Stitch has been my most favourite Disney movie (until Moana came along), for years. That naughty, but ever so cute (excluding the tongue up nostril moment) lil blue alien, who tries so hard to be good, had won me over. So I was super excited when I heard that Disney were doing a live-action remake.

Lilo & Stitch-Inspired Ice Cream Recipes – Aloha From Hawaii To Outer Space Image 1 close up on Stitch with his tongue hanging out Frosted FusionsBut would it do the original justice? Could live-action really portray that same vibe? Stitch being his usual super naughty, yet lovable, whilst causing sheer mayhem everywhere he goes, self? I was very keen to find out, and I wasn’t disappointed, still so much fun, and Stitch is still super naughty!

And in honour of this behaviour-challenged, yet loveable galactic alien, we’ve crafted recipes inspired by the movie and its unforgettable characters, one such recipe dedicated to the little mischievous Stitch himself – Experiment 626!

And you’ll be pleased to know that the Ice Cream Guy, who deserved better, also has his own dedicated recipe!

Before We Get Scooping – A Quick Look at Lilo & Stitch

If you’ve somehow missed the mayhem, Lilo & Stitch is a heartwarming, fun-filled Disney film that brings together a lonely Hawaiian girl (Lilo) and a wild, blue alien experiment (Stitch) who crash-lands on Earth.

Cue Elvis music, surfing, family feels, and plenty of melted ice cream.

Lilo-Stitch-Inspired-Ice-Cream-Recipes-–-Aloha-From-Hawaii-To-Outer-Space-Image-2-Lilo-and-Stitch-on-a-hammock-with-sunset-backdrop-Frosted-FusionsSet on the lush island of Kauai, the story blends tropical scenery, chaotic comedy, and deep emotional threads — all tied together by the powerful theme of Ohana, the Hawaiian word for family. And not just any family — a broken but still good one.

From Stitch’s alien hijinks to Lilo’s soulful quirkiness — and the ever-suffering Ice Cream Guy whose scoops never survive, there’s no shortage of sweet moments to inspire this scoop-worthy celebration.

🧪 Stitch’s Devil in Disguise Swirl

Experiment 626 – Sweet. Naughty. Totally out of this world.

It looks like a scoop of vanilla… but there’s mischief in every bite. Inspired by Stitch’s chaotic charm and Elvis swagger, this revamped swirl combines white chocolate, marshmallow fluff, and a sneaky streak of chilli raspberry ripple for that “devil in disguise” surprise – Because chaos never tasted so good.

🍦 The Fallen Cone

Sunburned, betrayed by gravity, and destined to drop dessert after dessert… this one’s for our beloved background legend: the Ice Cream Guy.

While our beloved Ice Cream Guy was clearly devoted to mint choc chip (just look at that green scoop he drops every time), we’ve taken some creative liberty with a flavour that better suits his sunburned, beachside vibe. Inspired by his endless scooping misfortunes (and his unfortunate lobster-red sunburn), this strawberry & vanilla ripple ice cream is packed with nostalgic seaside vibes — plus a cheeky nod to every cone that never made it home.

Lilo-Stitch-Inspired-Ice-Cream-Recipes-–-Aloha-From-Hawaii-To-Outer-Space-Image-8-the-fallen-cone-bowl-of-vanilla-ice-cream-with-strawberry-sauce-and-fallen-cone-by-the-side-Frosted-FusionsIngredients:

  • 300ml double cream
  • 200ml sweetened condensed milk
  • 150g fresh strawberries, blended
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Crushed waffle cone (for mix-in texture)
  • Optional: A few drops of pink food colouring — for that “sunburned scoop” glow

Method:

  1. Whip double cream to soft peaks.
  2. Fold in condensed milk, vanilla, and strawberry purée.
  3. Stir through crushed waffle cone for crunch.
  4. Add pink colouring for a sun-kissed hue, if using.
  5. Pour into a tub and freeze for at least 6 hours (or overnight).

Serving Idea:

  • Scoop generously, then top with a sideways cone and a little dollop of whipped cream for comic drama — because let’s face it, that cone was never going to stay upright.
  • Add a red jelly bean or sugar pearl on top for his burnt nose — optional but hilarious.

🚀 Gantu’s Galactic Guava Glow

Big, bold, and built for impact — this cosmic guava sorbet is as powerful and punchy as Captain Gantu himself. With its bright pink hue and tropical intensity, it’s a scoop that definitely makes an entrance.

This recipe takes inspiration from Kauai’s juicy fruit markets and the galactic glow of interstellar patrol ships. Vibrant, sharp, and unapologetically out-of-this-world.

Lilo-Stitch-Inspired-Ice-Cream-Recipes-–-Aloha-From-Hawaii-To-Outer-Space-Image-9-Gantus-Galactic-Guava-Glow-with-fresh-guava-fruit-Frosted-FusionsIngredients:

  • 500ml guava juice (100% or fresh-pressed if available)
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 tbsp agave syrup (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp beetroot powder or pitaya powder (for that high-definition planetary pink)
  • Optional mix-in: finely shredded toasted coconut or freeze-dried pineapple pieces for added texture punch

Method:

  1. In a bowl or jug, combine guava juice, lime juice, agave syrup, and beetroot or pitaya powder until well mixed.
  2. Pour into a shallow dish or tray and place in the freezer.
  3. Every 30 minutes, rake through the mixture with a fork to break up ice crystals and create a fluffy, icy texture.
  4. Repeat for 3–4 hours until the texture is slushy, light, and spoonable.
  5. Fold in toasted coconut or pineapple toward the end if using.

Serving Idea: Scoop into dark bowls or coconut shells, sprinkle with extra toasted coconut, and top with a mini sparkler for that explosive Gantu energy. Bonus points for serving it next to Stitch’s chaos swirl — because every hero needs a nemesis.

Bonus Scoops – More Lilo & Stitch-Inspired Flavours to Explore

Because one scoop is never enough, here are some out-of-this-world flavour ideas inspired by even more beloved characters from the Lilo & Stitch universe.

These are perfect for expanding your intergalactic dessert menu or sparking your own flavour experiments.

🧠 Jumba’s Atomic Fudge Core

Just like Jumba Jookiba, this one’s mad, messy, and way too clever for its own good. Think rich chocolate ice cream with a gooey fudge centre, a swirl of hazelnut spread, and popping candy “plasma particles.”
Bonus add-in: Chocolate rocks or caramel explosions for that lab-bench chaos.

🐟 Tuna Fish Ice Cream Sandwich (Yes, really…)Lilo-Stitch-Inspired-Ice-Cream-Recipes-–-Aloha-From-Hawaii-To-Outer-Space-Image-10-Tuna-Fish-Sandwich-on-a-beach-Frosted-Fusions

Lilo’s favourite? Tuna sandwiches. So of course… a dessert version.
We’re thinking vanilla bean ice cream sandwiched between lightly salted biscuit cookies with a dollop of tangy pineapple jam in the middle.
🚫 No actual tuna required. Just the vibes.

👑 The Grand Councilwoman’s Blueberry Lavender Ice Cream

Elegant, icy, and a little mysterious — a nod to the poised and powerful alien ruler.
Imagine a blueberry-lavender ice cream with a hint of lemon zest, swirled with a streak of white chocolate ganache.
Regal enough to serve at an interstellar peace summit.

  1. I absolutely loved this post! As a big fan of Lilo & Stitch, it brought such a nostalgic smile to my face. The way you tied each ice cream flavor to a character was so creative—and I really appreciate that you included dairy-free and vegan options too. It makes the recipes feel even more inclusive and fun for everyone.

Reading through this, I started to wonder—have you considered incorporating more distinct Hawaiian flavors beyond the tropical fruits, like haupia or taro? And wouldn’t it be fun to pair these ice creams with other themed desserts or even drinks to create a full Lilo & Stitch dessert party experience?

This was such a delightful read. Thank you for sharing your creativity and love for the movie in such a sweet and delicious way!

Love your suggestions! Haupia and taro could be such fun colour/flavour twists.

A full Stitch-themed dessert party? Now that is an idea we may need to start scooping into! – Drinks, themed bakes, and maybe even a galactic lava cake?

Thanks again for your sweet comment and for your recipe inspiration, again – you’ve sparked some brilliant new ideas.

      Wishing you all the best
