👀 In the Kitchen

This month’s kitchen has been a true harvest feast — apples, pears, plums, and even a surprise late punnet of strawberries have all found their way into my freezer experiments.

First came the plums, kindly shared by my neighbour’s boys. I couldn’t resist caramelising them down into a rich syrup and churning a batch of deep, jewel-toned plum ice cream. Pure autumnal joy in a scoop!

And just when I thought the fruit marathon was over, I stumbled across some unexpected strawberries. Too good to waste, they became a creamy, naturally sweet ice cream using dates instead of sugar — wholesome, indulgent, and perfect for anyone looking to enjoy treats without refined sugar. The dates worked beautifully!
